The idea of ​​not having to pay rent while working may sound like a great perk. One flight attendant did just that and is now living a “dream life” thanks to the airline industry.

Thirty-three years old Alexandra Cosoff did just that and left Queensland, Australia to work as a flight attendant for EmirateCosoff lives in Dubai but has not paid rent for ten years.

“Our accommodation is provided and our salary is tax free – and not only that, we have lots of other things like transport, laundry and full medical and dental care,” Cosoff told news.com.au. “We are very well looked after.”

Cosoff said a large portion of her salary went towards rent and bills when she worked in Australia. By working for Emirates, a United Arab Emirates airline, Cosoff is now able to save more of her income and travel the world.

“The fact that I didn’t have to pay taxes on top of my salary was also very attractive to me,” she said.

Cosoff said she lives in an apartment provided by the airline.

“You can either get company-provided accommodation or opt for an accommodation subsidy,” she said.

Cosoff, who previously worked as a makeup artist, said she now leads a “dream life.”

“I was so lucky. I had an incredible time,” she said.

Cosoff told the outlet that training to become a flight attendant at Emirates can be intensive and lasts eight weeks.

“It’s a very demanding training, but it stays with you for life. You learn to deal with other cultures and to remain calm and composed. And once you have mastered all these skills, no one can take them away from you,” she says.

The report says that new flight attendants at Emirates receive a base salary of about $1,236 per month and an hourly wage of about $17.86. They typically work between 80 and 100 flying hours per month and also receive meal allowances.

On average, economy class flight attendants earn about $3,435 per month, while cabin crew tend to earn more.

Cosoff, who has a degree in marketing and public relations, mentioned that a career in aviation has always appealed to her.

“Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a flight attendant. I remember seeing the Emirates cabin crew on TV with their red hats and flashy red lipstick and thinking, ‘Wow, they’re so beautiful,'” she said.

Cosoff told the outlet that she recommends anyone interested in becoming a flight attendant apply for what she called “a dream come true.”
