45-year-old former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has proudly revealed the results of a hair transplant.

The Romanian, who won 77 caps for his country, stood out for his shaved head during a controversial period in the Premier League.

But now he is “very happy” and has kept his thick, bouncy hair.

Mutu’s brief time at Stamford Bridge ended in September 2004 after he tested positive for cocaine.

The Blues immediately released him and he had to pay the club almost £15 million.

Mutu has lost all attempts to prevent the payment of the huge sum.

And the final blow came in 2018, when the European Court of Human Rights dismissed his case.

As for his hairstyle, Mutu has varied in style throughout his career. He was most successful at Fiorentina, but also played for Inter Milan and Juventus.

Sometimes he let his hair grow longer, but in England it was brutally short – similar to his time at Chelsea.

Although he scored ten goals in 36 games, he ran into trouble after José Mourinho took over as coach before promptly leaving the club after failing a doping test.

Fans laugh their heads off when they see Chelsea’s training video, saying it “looks like going to the gym on January 1st”

Since retiring as a player in 2016, Mutu has held three managerial jobs, including at domestic giants Rapid Bucharest.

However, he gave up his last position as coach of the Romanian top team CFR Cluj after only three months in April this year.

In the meantime, he has been patiently working on developing a new hairstyle – this has taken more time than his reign in Cluj.

Now he posted on Instagram: “After 5 months I am very happy with the result, thanks to the one and only @dr.emrahcinik @drcinik.global.”

Along with the message, he added two pictures – both with sunglasses and a trendy three-day beard.

A snapshot appeared to show Mutu in the early stages of his transplant – his head looked very similar to his short, spiky facial hair.

The other picture showed his gorgeous new brown hair – triumphantly gelled up.

And even though he shaved his head with a razor blade at Chelsea, he says he has rarely looked better.

Changes in the Premier League for 2024/25

NOTHING stays the same forever.

And that includes the Premier League, which is seeing a number of changes this season.

Team news is now published 75 MINUTES before kick-off, i.e. 15 minutes earlier than before.

It can get tight on the sidelines, as the number of substitutes for warm-up has been reduced from three players per team to FIVE.

There is also a change in the way Extra time is calculated when a team scores a goal, an update of the ‘Multiball’ and the introduction of semi-automatic offside positions – but not immediately.

Here you can find all the information about the changes in the Premier League for 2024/25.
