Free hot dogs for vasectomies and abortions at the DNC

A popular hot dog shop in Chicago is getting involved in the political action during the Democratic National Convention being held in the city.

The Wieners Circle has posted on X that it is offering free hot dogs to patients who visit a Planned Parenthood mobile health clinic in Chicago, which offers free vasectomies, medication abortions, and emergency contraception. The Wieners Circle has also posted about promotions for themed hot dogs and products attacking Republican presidential and vice presidential candidates Donald Trump and JD Vance.

“We gladly support all reproductive health choices. The choice is yours – NOT the government’s,” the Wieners Circle said in a post on X, along with a video of people standing under their sign chanting “Our (expletive), our choice!”

The congress will take place from Monday to Thursday at the United Center in Chicago.

Planned Parenthood bus offers free service and vasectomies

Planned Parenthood has made reproductive rights a focus at this year’s conference in Chicago, offering attendees free vasectomies, medication abortions and emergency contraception through its mobile health bus.

Planned Parenthood Great Rivers of St. Louis announced on X that its bus would be in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday to provide these services, directly addressing the changing landscape of reproductive rights in the United States since the last Democratic National Convention, after the U.S. Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022.

The post said the bus would be there with the Chicago Abortion Fund and The Wieners Circle. The Wieners Circle did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment.
