We’ll get to the No. 1 pick in a moment, but first I want to mention the No. 4 pick.

I LOVE Cape May County Park & ​​Zoo and have such great memories of going there with my kids when they were younger.

It’s definitely one of the best free attractions in New Jersey and it’s open year-round, so if you can’t get there before the kids go back to school, hopefully you can find a day to go to the zoo this fall. Donations are appreciated.

When the zoo opened almost 50 years ago, there were around 70 animals; today you can see 550 animals from 250 species.
