Joggers, dog walkers and cyclists alike enjoy the Northhaven Trail in the Prestonwood neighborhood. Friends of Northaven successfully lobbied for the construction of a bridge over the Central Expressway, allowing a continuous connection of the trail.
Friends of Northaven Trail is hosting a free bike and helmet check at several locations in the area on September 7th.
Representatives from Sun & Ski and Bike Mart will be on hand to check helmets and bikes for safety, while ice cream trucks from Howdy Homemade Ice Cream will be offering free ice cream.
Board members and other cyclists will be available at the Edgemere Rest Area from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Semones Family YMCA from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Townsend Drive parking lot near Royal Park from 2 to 3:30 p.m., and at the Pensive Trail Head from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
