In a conversation with Dr. Arika Bansal, we explore the success stories and unique challenges celebrities face on their journey to fuller hair.

From Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor to cricketer Mohammed Shami, renowned dermatologists and founders Dr. Arika Bansal and Dr. Pradeep Sethi have used their expertise to help many celebrity clients restore their hair and confidence. In a conversation with Dr. Arika Bansal, we explore the success stories and unique challenges celebrities have faced on their journey to fuller hair.

Q: How many actors or celebrities have you treated?

Dr. Arika Bansal: We have had the privilege of treating several well-known personalities who have kindly shared their experiences with the public. For example, Boney Kapoor, a famous Bollywood film producer, underwent advanced baldness treatment with us at the age of 67 and achieved complete coverage. Cricketer Mohammed Shami also underwent successful surgery, which complemented his impressive performance in the World Cup. Other cricketers like Nikhil Chopra, Ravi Shastri and Mohammed Azharuddin have also undergone treatment with us.

Q: Have any actors or celebrities had hair transplant failures?

Dr. Arika Bansal: Although I wouldn’t call them complete failures, some actors continue to wear wigs or hair patches after their transplant. This can affect both the transplanted and non-transplanted hair and lead to accelerated balding. I have also seen cases where the transplant did not look natural or dense enough, requiring a repeat to achieve the desired results.

Q: Can you name any celebrities who have faced these challenges?

Dr. Arika Bansal: Unfortunately, for privacy reasons, I cannot give any specific names.

Q: What are the wishes of most celebrities regarding hair transplantation?

Dr. Arika Bansal: Celebrities often want a procedure where they can keep their long hair and not have to cut it. For example, Ravi Shastri had his hair transplant done with long hair as he could not afford time off. In the case of Anoop Jalota, who previously wore a wig, we managed to give him full coverage with a combination of beard and head hair as his donor area was compromised by previous failed procedures.

Q: Have any female celebrities had hair transplant or restoration procedures done by you?

Dr. Arika Bansal: Yes, we have treated several female celebrities. For example, Dr. Apratim Goel, a well-known dermatologist from Mumbai, underwent hairline reduction with us. She was not bald but had a naturally high hairline, which we reduced by 1.5 to 2 centimeters, which significantly improved her appearance. We have also treated actress Mandana Karimi, who underwent medical treatment and her hair density increased slightly in the front.

Q: How much do these treatments cost?

Dr. Arika Bansal: The cost of these treatments should be considered an investment as the results are permanent. The cost varies depending on the number of grafts required. For smaller areas it can be around 100,000, but for larger areas that require more grafts the cost can be higher.

Q: How long does it take for the results of a hair transplant to become visible?

Dr. Arika Bansal: The procedure itself takes one to three days, depending on the area being treated. Full results are usually visible after eight to ten months, although you may see partial growth as early as two months. As a rule of thumb, you will see about 40% growth after four months, 60% after six months, and full results after eight to ten months.
