Full map, top storylines and potential surprises

After a largely routine episode of Monday Night Raw, the red brand cast is ready for Bash in Berlin on Saturday, August 31st.

There are currently five matches planned for Berlin, three of which are from the Raw storylines. Here are the matches confirmed so far:

  • WWE Championship – (c) Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens
  • World Heavyweight Championship – (c) Gunther vs. Randy Orton
  • Mixed Tag Team Match – Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio vs. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest
  • Strap Match – CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match – (c) The Unholy Union vs. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill

It would not be a surprise if there was another SmackDown match at Bash in Berlin to compensate.

Raw continued to drop hints of a split with New Day, and Bronson Reed’s version of the Hall of Pain continued to simmer. On Monday, he and Braun Strowman battled in the parking lot of Providence, Rhode Island. Reed flattened the Monster of Monsters with a Tsunami while he was lying on top of a car.

Reed does not have a match at the Bash in Berlin, but he will take part in the current Intercontinental number one contender’s qualifying match next week.

Finally, the feud between Wyatt Sicks and American Made continued with a singles match, where Uncle Howdy defeated Chad Gable.

As for the Superstars that will be in action in Berlin, we saw Orton cut a promo by himself without Gunther attacking or confronting him. Orton is starting to mention in his promos that he has become a 15-time World Champion.

This makes me believe he might have a better chance of winning against Gunther. If Orton pulls through, it could mean he loses soon, only to win again against John Cena in his retirement match in late 2025.

I’m not going to change my prediction that Gunter will be kept, but WWE does a great job of sowing doubt.

The Terror Twins retained the upper hand over The Judgment Day following a confrontation at the end of a match between the latter and Rey Mysterio and the LWO.

The sequence was the typical flow you would expect from a high-profile mixed tag team match. The star-studded cast of the match is particularly strong on the women’s side, with Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan being by far the two biggest influencers in their locker room.

The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre may be coming to an end, or at least dying down. The two hinted at strap match action on Monday, with Punk winning the sequence but not getting back the bracelet that McIntyre stole from him after an ambush earlier this year.

McIntyre has been putting on the best performance of his career during the feud and even just before it when he fought Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Part of me wants to see McIntyre go down at Bash in Berlin, but it seems impossible for Punk to lose two PLEs in a row after his loss at SummerSlam.

Stay tuned for more WWE coverage as we countdown to Bash in Berlin.
