Garth Brooks finally releases his new album “Time Traveler” on Amazon

Garth Brooks’ latest album, and his 17th album overall, will finally be available on Friday, September 6th… only for streaming… exclusively on Amazon Music. No word yet on whether there will ever be physical single copies, and like all of Garth’s other songs and albums, it won’t be available on any other streaming service thanks to his exclusive Amazon deal.

The official release date for Garth’s Time Traveler is still on November 7, 2023. This was the date the album was offered for sale, but only as Part of a larger box set available exclusively at Bass Pro Shops. The box set also includes the albums Man versus machine (2014), Gunslinger (2016) and Fun (2020) together with Triple Live (2018). It is part of Garth’s “Limited Series”, which has released two other box set collections in the past.

Garth says about the new album: “There are many different eras represented on this album, hence the name. The core of country music is sincerity, then you can dress it up in a thousand different ways. I’m so happy to live under the flag of country music.”

Although the album has not been available for streaming until now, several singles have made it onto Amazon Music, including the lead single “Rodeo Man” featuring Ronnie Dunn, which peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The song was released in November 2023 to coincide with the box set. “Neon Neighborhood” was also released on March 7, “The Ship and the Bottle” featuring Kelly Clarkson was released on March 21, and “Me Without You” was released on April 11.

The release of these singles a few weeks apart led some Garth fans to believe that eventually all songs would be released this way, but then the single releases were discontinued. Nine of the ten songs on the album are originals, with Garth also adding his version of the country classic “The Ride” about Hank Williams, originally made popular by David Allan Coe. Garth adds a verse to the song to “complete the story,” according to Garth.

The Bass Pro Shops release was Garth’s eighth box set overall. And then last month Garth released his 9th box set called 777 with 77 songs and performances from his appearance at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

It’s hard to say if anyone is paying any attention to these Garth Brooks releases, as many people don’t even own a CD player anymore, most have switched to streaming, and there seems to be little to no press or promotion for these releases.

Nevertheless, Garth Brooks remains one of the most popular musicians of all time, and Time Traveler contains some real country songs, including “Rodeo Man”.
