The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline at self-dispensing stations in Los Angeles County fell half a cent to $4.561 on Sunday.
The average price is three-tenths of a cent lower than a week ago, 13.6 cents lower than a month ago and 72.9 cents lower than a year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The price has fallen by $1.933 since its record high of $6.494 on October 5, 2022.
The average price in Orange County fell eight-tenths of a cent to $4.489. That’s four-tenths of a cent more than a week ago, but 13.4 cents less than a month ago and 75 cents less than a year ago. The average price in Orange County has fallen $1.97 since rising to a record $6.459 on October 5, 2022.
The national average price fell seven-tenths of a cent to $3.414. That’s 3.1 cents less than a week ago, 9.2 cents less than a month ago and 45.9 cents less than a year ago. The national average price has fallen $1.602 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“Summer is coming to an end, and so far gas prices have barely budged,” said Andrew Gross, national public relations manager for AAA. “But hurricane season still has a long way to go, so it’s too early to say pump prices have begun their usual fall slump.”
