Gasum petrol stations open to OKQ8 IDS fuel card holders, enabling easier access to cleaner fuels

Gasum, an expert in the Nordic gas sector and energy market, is launching a strategic partnership with OKQ8, one of Scandinavia’s largest fuel companies, which will open Gasum filling stations to OKQ8 IDS fuel card holders in the autumn. The collaboration paves the way for an easier and more efficient transition to low-emission fuels.

Gasum and OKQ8 both strive for clean energy and the collaboration will enable OKQ8 IDS fuel card holders to access Gasum’s extensive nationwide network of stations, providing more convenient and easier access to LNG (liquefied natural gas) and LBG (liquefied biogas). This is an important step in the shared mission to break down barriers in the energy sector and facilitate the transition of transport operators to more sustainable practices.

“Through this collaboration, our customers will be able to fill up with LBG or LNG nationwide, combining all fuel costs on a single bill, regardless of whether they choose diesel, HVO100, LBG or LNG. In addition, they will benefit from all the other advantages of the IDS card, including improved security and service,” says Helen Axelsson, Director B2B Sales at OKQ8.

“We have invested heavily in the Swedish petrol station network at a rapid pace and have reached our original goal of opening 25 petrol stations within five years – an important milestone. By partnering with OKQ8, we are now expanding our efforts and have created more than one path to greener road transport on our journey to zero carbon emissions,” says Sharareh Edström, Director of Transport in Sweden at Gasum.

This partnership simplifies the transition to low-emission fuels, as LNG reduces CO2 emissions by 20 percent and LBG by 90 percent on average compared to diesel. It is another step in Gasum’s long-term journey to decarbonize heavy road transport and expand its reach to customers.

With domestic road transport responsible for about a third of Sweden’s greenhouse gas emissions, progress in energy and transport is crucial for a more sustainable future.
