Here’s a managerial position that offers a flexible company benefit: a free beer every day. All you have to do is be elected Chief Beer Officer for Yard House. You can also help select beers for the menu.
So you think you can tell ale from lager? Porter from stout? Sours from saisons? Here’s an exciting part-time job for you: Chief Beer Officer at the Yard House.
The restaurant chain, based in Orlando, Florida, with 88 locations across the U.S., is accepting applications for the position. Perks include: free beer for a year (one beer daily) and the opportunity to help select the beer for your local Yard House.
“With nearly 22,000 barrels under our roof, it’s safe to say our love of beer runs deep, so we’re thrilled to welcome a lucky beer lover to the Yard House family in this special way,” said Jennifer White, director of marketing at Yard House, in a statement. “Our CBO (Chief Beer Officer) will be a true connoisseur and will experience firsthand the dedication and expertise that goes into Yard House’s beer selection, making it a dream role for anyone who loves beer as much as we do.”
How can you become Chief Beer Officer at Yard House?
If you are interested, apply online on the Yard House website now through August 21st.
They must be at least 21 years old and live within 20 miles of a Yard House location. Submissions will be judged on “their love of beer and the creativity and quality of the entry,” the company said in a press release.
A few application tips: You can use any creative medium to create your “love letter to beer” and “photos, videos and real love letters are welcome,” the company says.
Yard House Chief Beer Officer: What are the benefits?
In addition to a free beer every day at The Yard House, the winner will also receive:
- Cicerone training level 1, which includes training on beer types and serving – similar to the wine sommelier training. All bartenders at Yard House have completed this training.
- A VIP meeting with a Yard House general manager and beer expert who will help you select beers for the menu at your local Yard House.
- A selection of “office supplies” featuring the Chief Beer Officer logo of your choice, such as a mini fridge, standing desk or blazer.
