In a recent blog post from Google, the company announced its newest app, “Google Essentials,” which allows you to discover many of its best services.
According to Google, after two years of development aimed at bringing Google Play Games to PC, users are finally getting access to the app. The app now lets users take advantage of a range of Google services – including Google Play Games – when setting up a new PC.
Google also claims that you’ll be able to access everything from Google Docs and Calendar to Google Photos and Messages from your Start menu. While the exact number of Google services available through the app isn’t specified, the promotional poster suggests that other apps like Play Store, Sheets, and Google One could be included.
Google mentioned that the main motivation for developing this app was to bring Google Play Games to PC for gamers, so you can expect a wide range of games to be available on PC as well. Thousands of mobile and native PC games from Google Play Games, including popular titles like Battle of the Clans And CookieRun: Tower of Adventurewill be accessible via the app.
One plus point: everything you do through the app with any of the services is synced across all your devices connected to your Google account. This makes it easy and quick to switch between your phone and desktop to keep working seamlessly. You have the option to delete all services within the app or remove the Google Essentials app entirely if you so wish.
According to Google, the app will initially be rolled out exclusively to HP Windows laptops, but plans to roll it out to other laptops and desktops in the coming months.
