Gordo was caught in the middle of Drake’s feud with DJ Mustard and recently hit back at the “weird” energy the “Not Like Us” producer has been displaying toward Drake lately.
Gordo, formerly known as DJ Carnage, recently thanked Mustard for his accolades, calling him a “legend” but calling him a “weird dude,” sarcastically echoing Mustard’s recent comments about Drake.
“I will not tolerate any slander of DJ Mustard,” Gordo wrote on X last Sunday (August 25). “The guy is a fucking legend… made several classics… and had one of the most legendary performances of all time as a producer… he’s just a funny dude.”
While Gordo doesn’t seem to hold much resentment toward Mustard, his relationship with Drake apparently prompted him to come to the rapper’s aid following his supposed loss to Kendrick Lamar in their rap battle.
He had previously denied the notion that Drake was sad or disappointed by the negative reactions and ridicule, claiming that the hitmaker was “over the moon” despite the perception around him.
“Since all this happened … I’ve seen him happier,” Gordo said in an interview last month. “It’s really strange. He’s quite cheerful.”
“On the internet, it’s like, ‘Oh, he’s all sad and shitty in this photo.’ It’s just a bad photo from a bad camera. But because it’s him, it gets scrutinized, like, ‘Oh, look at his eyes. He looks a little bit groggy. He hasn’t slept.’ But the guy is, to be honest, pretty damn happy. He’s relaxing.”
Gordo has worked extensively with Drake in recent years and produced several songs on the albums Honestly, forget it And For all dogsincluding the hit single “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA.
Drake also appeared as a guest on Gordo’s recently released EP, diamondwhich was released in July.
