This special event will be held at DW’s headquarters in Oxnard, California and is open to the public and will include one-day factory pricing, factory and exhibit tours, artist seminars, special events and giveaways.
WHO: Guitar Center, the world’s largest retailer of musical instruments, partners with Drum Workshop, Inc. (DW), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of drums and drum hardware.
WHAT: “DW Factory Day,” an all-day event open to the public, featuring one-day factory pricing, factory and exhibit tours, artist classes, special events and giveaways (from DW, Zildjian, SKB and Guitar Center Lessons), local food trucks and more! Guitar Center will serve as the exclusive seller for all equipment purchased during the event and will offer special pricing on drums and equipment available at the event, in-store, online and by phone, August 24th only. Also, special 48-month financing will be offered on DW, PDP and LP purchases of $399 or more with a Guitar Center Gear Card, plus 5% off in rewards, August 24th only.
Participants can sign up for a free group drum lesson with renowned drummer Jason Sutter. All participants will receive a prize from Remo. Space is limited. Register here.
Factory Day visitors can take a complete factory tour where they can see the entire drum manufacturing process from start to finish, learn about the company’s 50+ year history, see how drum hardware is made, and visit the DW Drums showroom. On display are legendary drum sets, including the last set Rush drummer Neil Peart ever played. DW developed the R40 drum set to celebrate Neil Peart’s 40th anniversary with Rush, and it is now on permanent display to honor one of the greatest drummers of all time.

Another unique opportunity is to have your snare drum tuned by DW’s master drum tuner Roland Martinez! Roland hand tunes every DW drum before it leaves the factory. This is free for all participants. Be sure to bring your snare!
There will also be a Drum Battle competition featuring some of the best local drummers from the Guitar Center Lessons program! Come cheer on your favorite drummer as they compete for prizes from DW, Zildjian and SKB. Judges include renowned drummers Brendan Buckley, Daru Jones, Fausto Cuevas III, Nisan Stewart, Kenny Aronoff and Jason Sutter.
Doors open at 11:30am PDT; the day’s program begins at 11:35am with a DWe electronic drum demo, a Drum Battle from 12pm-1pm, an autograph signing with the Drum Battle judges at 1pm, announcement of the Drum Battle winner at 1:15pm, a group drum lesson with Jason Sutter at 1:50pm, a presentation on the history of DW pedals with Don & Connor Lombardi at 2:30pm, a drum class with Trevor Lawrence Jr. and Thomas Lang at 3:30pm, and an autograph signing with Lawrence and Lang at 4:30pm.
