HCHC concludes National Health Centers Week

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Community Health Centers concluded National Health Centers Week with a Children’s Health Day event.

The event provided free school supplies, health checks, bike helmets and gift cards to local businesses. Natalie Bass, interim executive director of the HCHC, said this week is about helping the community with help from other community members.

“The most important thing is to remember that we are all needed, whether we are health care providers, first responders, relief organizations or homeless shelters. We all need to be committed to the health, wellness and safety of our community. None of us can do this alone,” Bass said. “This is a really busy week for our team because we do a lot of events. It’s the end of it, but everyone still comes out energized because I think this is their favorite part of the week. It’s really a great way to celebrate our community, help our kids get ready for school, educate them, connect with them and show the community who we are.”

Bass said she and the rest of the HCHC wanted everyone in the community to get the medical care they need and looked forward to hosting the event in the future.
