He asked his wife’s boyfriend to leave the house after he made the comment that he always thought his wife would end up with someone better than him

For some people, it’s a big red flag if their partner is friends with someone of the opposite sex. For others, these mixed friendships really aren’t a big deal.

But what if you had fallen into that latter boat for years and your significant other’s friend suddenly started making some really inappropriate comments about your relationship? How would you handle this awkward situation?

This 31-year-old man recently went through the exact same incident. He and his wife – who is 29 – got married about two years ago. Since then, they have also had a daughter together, who is now 2 months old.

However, his wife has known a certain friend for years and the two have been very close for a very long time.

“And her boyfriend never gave me a reason to stop him from visiting our house,” he said.

But everything changed after his wife’s friend was invited to their home last weekend to meet their newborn daughter.

While the three of them were just talking, the guy started making some really blunt comments.

At first, his wife’s friend claimed that he was “lucky” and that was why he was able to “win” his wife in the first place. Then his wife’s friend admitted that for a long time he always believed that his wife would end up with someone “better” than him.

“The guy made a joke out of it, but I found it very tasteless and inappropriate, especially in front of my wife and our newborn,” he recalls.
