Henderson’s “child molester” must go to prison – no chance of parole

HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) – A 25-year-old Henderson man is expected to spend the next few decades in prison.

Last week, Collin Marshall Newton was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison, followed by 30 years of probation.

He was found guilty of one count of child sex trafficking, two counts of online enticement of a minor, three counts of child sexual exploitation, one count of attempted online enticement of a minor, and one count of distribution of child pornography.

This is a statement from the U.S. Department of Justice, which told us that this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

“The dedicated collaboration between local, state and federal partners has put this sex offender behind bars where he belongs,” said Attorney General Coleman. “I am grateful to everyone who has helped protect Kentucky’s children from horrific exploitation.”

This case was investigated by the Secret Service and the Division of Criminal Investigations of the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office with assistance from the Kentucky State Police and the St. Matthews Police Department.
