Honda Prologue is cheaper to lease than a Civic with up to ,000 discount

You can now lease a new Honda Prologue for less than a Civic. With a new Labor Day rebate of up to $14,250 in potential savings, the Honda Prologue SUV is a better lease deal than the Civic.

Honda’s first electric SUV hit U.S. dealerships in March of this year. As of July, Honda has sold nearly 5,000 Prologue models in the U.S., including 3,458 last month alone.

The Honda Prologue is based on GM’s Ultium platform (which also powers new electric cars from Chevy, Cadillac and GMC) and has a range of up to 296 miles. Honda says it has the “longest standard range in its class.”

Although it uses the same platform, Honda has fine-tuned it to make it unique. Honda has added multi-link suspensions front and rear while also bringing in its signature design touch.

With a starting price of $47,400, the 2024 Honda Prologue is already below the average transaction price (ATP) for a new vehicle in the United States. According to Cox CarThe ATP for new vehicles in June was USD 48,644.

Before Labor Day, Honda made the Prologue even more affordable. According to an online auto research firm CarsDirectHonda has introduced new Labor Day Dealer Cash on all Prologue leases starting August 28, 2024.

Honda Prologue is cheaper to lease than a Civic

With a potential savings of up to $14,250, leasing the Honda Prologue is even cheaper than leasing a Civic. The 2024 Honda Prologue EX can be leased for $299 per month (36 months).

A $1,000 lease bonus (Loyalty and Conquest) lowers the monthly payment to $269. With $1,999 due at signing, the effective rate is $325 per month before taking the $750 Labor Day cash rebate.

The Honda Civic LX costs $239 per month after the lease rebate. At $3,599 at signing, the Civic costs $333 per month, or $8 more than the Prologue.

And that’s despite the fact that, at just under $40,000, the Prologue costs almost twice as much as a new 2025 Civic LX ($24,250).

The best Prologue deals are in California and other ZEV states, but in other parts of the country, people can still save up to $13,250.
