How to save money when refueling
You have no control over gas prices, but you can be smarter when it’s time to go to the pump.

Reno-Sparks residents, have you ever experienced a “gas rush”?
On Reddit, residents recently shared their stories about the prices, long lines at Costco’s cheaper gas prices, and occasional confrontations between motorists fighting for a place in line to save money at the pump.
There are good reasons for drivers to look for lower prices. According to AAA.com, Nevada had the fourth-highest average gas price on Monday at $3,941, with only Hawaii, California and Washington state higher. And the average price per gallon in Washoe County on Friday was $4,405; that’s the highest average price in the state, excluding remote Mineral County.
According to price-tracking website GasBuddy.com, the only gas stations in Washoe with prices under $4 on Monday were the members-only Sam’s Club station on Kietzke Lane ($3.99) and the Quik Stop on the east end of Sparks ($3.99). With average gas prices in the county a little more than 41 cents higher than those two stations, many drivers seem to think it’s worth the wait.
