Des Moines and Iowa experienced isolated rain showers from Sunday evening into Monday morning.

Most of the state saw some rain, with most of it falling on the southwestern side of Iowa. More rain is expected for the rest of the week.

In Des Moines, nearly 0.5 inches of rain fell between Sunday night and 10 a.m. Monday morning. A total of 0.5 inches of rain fell over the state capital, according to the Iowa State University Mesonet.

There’s a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms before 1 a.m. Tuesday night and a 60 percent chance of rain Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
