The cooperative shooter has a new armor set called TR-40 Gold Eagle that allows players to bask in the glory of their explosive stratagems like the Greek god Apollo. If you come back from a break and wonder why the armor isn’t showing up in the Super Store, don’t worry. The new armor can be yours in just a few steps.

Helldivers 2 – Gold Eagle Armor Showcase

The TR-40 Gold Eagle armor set was released for free as part of the Escalation of Freedom update. It is not available in the Super Store, nor does it require the purchase of a Premium Warbond. The only thing you need to do is update your game to the latest patch. Go to the Super Destroyer’s armory and equip the armor.

Please note that the TR-40 Gold Eagle consists of body armor and a helmet. Helldivers 2. While a golden cape would have been nice, players who own the Super Citizen Edition will find that the Will of the People cape goes perfectly with the golden armor.

Those who tuned in to the live developer stream on August 6 were able to unlock the TR-40 Gold Eagle armor 48 hours in advance. Even if you didn’t watch the stream, your account is still eligible to receive the armor. Just log in to the game.

Special features

The TR-40 Gold Eagle is based on the standard B-01 Tactical armor in Helldivers 2. It has the same design, stats and passive armor, the only difference being the bright, “high visibility” color change that lets you see through nighttime torrential rain, heavy smoke and the thick fog of spore loaders in Helldivers 2at least according to the claims in the game.

Helldivers 2 offers only a handful of colorful armor sets, the most popular of which were exclusive to pre-orders and Twitch drops at launch. Despite repeated requests from the community, developer Arrowhead Game Studios never added them to the Super Store rotation. Then-CEO and later creative director Johan Pilestedt even refused to add a transmog option that would allow players to swap color palettes. This makes the TR-40 Gold Eagle armor a special freebie for the Helldivers 2 community.
