Dave Chappelle has announced the dates for his comedy show “Dave Chappelle’s Summer Camp” in August. He will return to his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio. The comedian will perform two shows, both on August 23 and 24 at the Wirrig Pavilion.

Tickets for the shows will be available through Ticketmaster starting Wednesday, August 14 at 12pm ET. The upcoming shows are a follow-up to the previously announced “Dave Chappelle and Friends” show that took place at the same venue in July.

Organizers note that the shows are a “phone-free experience,” meaning that cell phone use is not permitted. Instead, phones are placed in Yondr bags to prevent guests from accessing their phones until the end of the show.

The comedian has close ties to the Buckeye State, where Chappelle calls Yellow Springs his home. He spent part of his childhood in Yellow Springs and is said to own property there.

He still shows his connection to Ohio in his shows, praising the state and paying tribute to Cleveland Browns legend Jim Brown during a 2022 appearance.

In addition to his widely acclaimed comedic talent, Chappelle also received the prestigious Mark Twain Award for American Humor in 2019. With his hit sketch comedy television series “Chappelle’s Show,” comedy specials, and guest appearances on “Saturday Night Live,” he has received over 30 award nominations for his television and film projects.
