How to watch live for free, schedule

The fourth and final ATP Grand Slam of the year is here: The 2024 US Open has officially begun in Queens.

2023 men’s singles champion Novak Djokovic returns to defend his title just weeks after winning Olympic gold; if he repeats his success at this year’s US Open, he will win his 25th Grand Slam title, a record. Djokovic is the second seed at the bottom of the men’s singles draw, while the No. 1 is Jannick Sinner, who avoided a ban despite a positive doping test.

It’s been 21 years since an American won a Grand Slam, but 13th seed Ben Shelton could change that. The 21-year-old, who served at 150 mph in last year’s semifinals, is considered the U.S.’ best chance to end its Grand Slam drought.

On the women’s side, defending champion Coco Gauff is a player to watch at No. 3; Iga Swiatek is No. 1 and Aryna Sabalenka is No. 2.
