The Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team hosts another rival from Upstate New York when the Niagara Purple Eagles visit SU Soccer Stadium on Sunday, August 25 (08/25/2024).
Syracuse vs. Niagara will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and can be streamed live with fuboTV (free trial) or DirecTV Stream (free trial). It is not broadcast on cable television.
The Orange Men triumphed after their 1-0 win in the season opener against their rivals from Upstate New York, the Colgate Raiders. A late goal by Chimere Omeze (87th) helped the 25th-ranked Syracuse men’s soccer team to their first away win of the season.
The Orange had more shots on goal than the Raiders in the game (16-4), but struggled to find the back of the net during the 0-0 tie. Goalkeeper Thomas Hut was instrumental in keeping the Orange in the game, especially in the first half when he made two great saves to prevent the Raiders from taking the lead.
The Orange will next face the Niagara Purple Eagles, a familiar opponent, in their second game of the season. These teams have not played each other since the 2022 season, when Syracuse won 1-0. The Orange lead the all-time series 9-1.
