The World of Hyatt Business Card (Review) is Hyatt’s co-branded business credit card issued by Chase. The card offers a generous welcome bonus and there are also several reasons to keep the card.

The product has a $199 annual fee, but a benefit that helps offset that annual fee is up to $100 in Hyatt credits per year. In this post, I want to explain how these credits work and how these credits are considered in the context of the card’s overall value proposition.

Details about the Hyatt Business Card: 100 USD hotel credit

The World of Hyatt Business Card offers up to $100 in Hyatt credits each anniversary year. Simply spend $50 or more at any Hyatt hotel worldwide with the card and you’ll receive a $50 credit up to twice a year. As you’d expect, there are a few terms and conditions to keep in mind:

  • The statement credits of up to $100 are offered every anniversary year (which coincides with your card’s anniversary), not every calendar year. They are also offered in the year you open the card.
  • You can unlock the $50 credit when you make a single eligible purchase of $50 or more. In other words, two purchases of $25 would not unlock this credit.
  • Additionally, although the credit is split into two credits of $50 each, there are no time restrictions. In other words, you can use the two $50 credits just a few days apart, so it is not split semi-annually.
  • The credit can be applied toward either the room rate or incidental charges at any Hyatt hotel worldwide, as long as the purchase is processed by the hotel.
  • It may take up to two billing cycles for the $50 credit to post after purchase, but in my experience, it is much quicker.
  • Eligible purchases can be made by either the base cardholder or an authorized user, but you will still only receive up to $100 in total credits per year.
  • No registration is required to benefit as long as you make the correct, eligible purchases with the card

This is one of the most straightforward hotel vouchers offered by credit cards. As long as you spend $50 at Hyatt hotels at least twice a year, even if it’s just incidentals when redeeming World of Hyatt points, this amount should basically be worth face value.

Let me be more specific: If you don’t value this credit nearly as much as its face value, then the World of Hyatt Business Card isn’t for you because you probably don’t stay at Hyatts often enough.

Also, remember that when you stay at a Hyatt, you can always split your bill between multiple cards when you check out, so if you plan on using a different card for most of your Hyatt spending, you can still charge at least $50 to that card during a stay to release the balance.

How this credit affects the value of the card

In my view, the $100 Hyatt credit on the World of Hyatt Business Card essentially cuts the card’s actual annual fee in half, from $199 to around $99. Of course, you still have to pay that fee, but my point is that everyone who has the card should get the $100 as a statement credit.

So what benefits do you get in return? While the card offers many perks, I consider two benefits to be the most valuable of this card:

In short, you get this card for the great bonus and also for the opportunity to buy elite status. Otherwise, however, this is not a sure-fire success like the World of Hyatt Credit Card (test report).

This card has an annual fee of just $95 and there are so many reasons to buy it. Among other things, the card offers a free night on your Category 1-4 anniversary, five elite nights for status per year with no spend requirement, and more. The card is also worth spending $15,000 annually because you can earn a second Category 1-4 free night that way.

Conclusion

The World of Hyatt Business Card is Hyatt’s only business card. The card offers a better welcome bonus than the personal card and is also more rewarding for everyday spending in terms of the speed at which you earn elite nights.

The card has an annual fee of $199, but it offers up to $100 in Hyatt credits per year that pretty much any cardholder can use. In my opinion, that cuts the cost of the card in half.

However, it is not quite as easy to keep this card as the World of Hyatt Credit Card, which I think is well worth it for anyone who stays at Hyatts regularly.

What has been your experience using the $100 Hyatt credit for the Hyatt Business Card?
