Hypermarket sells burgers for 0.67 RM, netizens impressed

There has undeniably been a rise in prices when it comes to eating out, with Malaysians reporting their own horrific experiences of having to pay shockingly high prices for something as simple as economy rice.

Even the cheapest street burger costs a whopping 3 RM.

Therefore, it is definitely a remarkable experience to come across a chicken burger that is sold for less than 1 RM.

Recently, @abangzabumalaysia shared on his TikTok account his worthwhile offer: a 67 sen chicken burger at a local hypermarket.

The video shows a stack of neatly packaged burgers stacked on several trays with a special offer sign hanging above them.

“Promotion! Chicken burgers, RM0.67 each,” the ad said.

The notice also states that each customer is limited to two chicken burgers.

The TikTok post has since been viewed over 350,000 times, with many Malaysian internet users expressing their surprise at the extremely affordable price.

@abangzabumalaysia also posted a second video reviewing the RM0.67 burger.

In his “unboxing video,” he peels off the burger bun to reveal a sizeable chicken patty slathered with chili sauce and what looks like coleslaw.

“I think this is much better than the burgers they sell at the stadium,” commented one TikTok user.

Another TikTok user shared that this action was likely done in the spirit of the 67th National Day celebrations this year.

“The way they attract customers means that when people come, they don’t just buy burgers. That’s how they make a profit. Selling burgers actually makes a loss, but the profit comes from other products.”
