Hyundai IONIQ 6 facelift spotted for the first time with N branding

Hyundai’s electric fastback is getting a new facelift. The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 facelift was first spotted with N branding ahead of its official debut. Check out the new image below.

After the IONIQ 5, the IONIQ 6 is Hyundai’s second dedicated electric vehicle based on the E-GMP platform. Following the market launch of the electrified streamlined version in July 2022, the IONIQ 6 is already set to receive an upgrade.

We first saw the updated model last month after it was spotted in Korea. Recently, a video of ShortsAuto gave us a closer look when the IONIQ 6 facelift was caught on public test drives (you can watch the video below).

One of the biggest changes concerns the front end of the vehicle. Although it is camouflaged, the updated IONIQ 6 features redesigned headlights that resemble those of the new Hyundai Sonata. Hyundai is also expected to redesign the front bumper.

Like the IONIQ 5 refresh already launched in Korea, the new electric sedan is expected to have a larger battery for slightly more range and faster charging.

Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 is already the most energy-efficient electric vehicle in the U.S. this year, but the improvements will likely increase its maximum range of 361 EPA-estimated miles.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 facelift will soon debut with new N model

A larger 84 kWh battery (previously 77.4 kWh) gives the IONIQ 5 Refresh a range of up to 301 miles (485 km) in Korea (previously 285 miles (459 km).

Following the updated model in May next year, Hyundai will unveil the first N-branded IONIQ 6 in September.

The IONIQ 6 will be Hyundai’s second electric vehicle to receive the N treatment, following the IONIQ 5 N, which was launched in Korea in September 2023.

Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 N will include “track-ready” features like Race Mode, Launch Control, N Grin Boost, Drift Optimizer and more. The IONIQ 5 N has up to 601 hp and 600 Nm of torque for a 0-100 km/h sprint in just over 3 seconds. The IONIQ 6 N will likely top that.
