The 30-year-old began to take hair care seriously after recovering from a cell phone accident.
“It took almost two years of treatment,” she tells Fabulous.
“Ten operations later, my hair was falling out in clumps.
“I was determined to grow my hair back in my twenties.
“All I wanted was long, thick hair.
“After getting to know my hair type and experimenting with different product formulas and techniques, I finally found the methods that work best for me.”
Calista dedicates her TikTok profile to educating others about hair care and methods they can use to enhance their curls.
This includes her glass hair routine, for which she has published a detailed tutorial.
The California-based hair influencer performs the shine-enhancing routine when her locks are “50% dry.”
“That’s what the hot girls in China do to get glassy hair,” she says.
“Instead of blow-drying on high heat, we start with hair oil and blow-dry on medium heat.”
Calista warms the hair oil (you can use any one you like) between her palms before applying it to the lengths and ends of her locks.
When her hair is “80% dry,” she works more oil into the ends and then blow-dries it on a low heat.
“And there you have it,” she adds.
