I will feel better in the coming days

A weak frontal system moving through Acadiana on Monday will bring more pleasant summer weather to the region for most of this week.

A fading storm outflow from the north combined with a weak frontal boundary swept through the area between 2 and 3 a.m. Monday morning, bringing wind gusts of up to 65 km/h and more in some places.

This phenomenon will ultimately lead to lower dew points through Tuesday, which in turn will lower our humidity and heat index.

There is still a slight chance of rain in Acadiana overnight and into early Tuesday, but drier, more comfortable air will arrive tomorrow afternoon, including dew points dropping above 60°F.

The next few days will be mostly sunny again, with highs around 35 degrees, but heat indices will be more likely to be 38 degrees or below, so we will have to live with heat warnings for most of this week, if not all.

Nighttime/morning lows will be more pleasant, almost resembling early autumn. Wednesday and Thursday mornings will see temperatures mostly around 25 degrees, while in the northern municipalities of the region lows could drop to over 18 degrees!

This pattern is expected to continue through the end of the week, with humidity and a lower chance of rain returning by the weekend.

Next week could be a bit more interesting, as a low pressure system split off from the frontal system moves westward across the northern Gulf of Mexico, increasing the likelihood of at least afternoon storms next week.
