She told us which anti-aging products she uses to save money and recommended an inexpensive remedy for swelling.

Fiona Ross is the founder of The Aesthetics Club, a UK-based facility that offers treatments and beauty methods used by celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston.

Ross revealed top skincare tips that suit every budget.

AFFORDABLE BEAUTY

“I’m very particular about not spending a ton of money on cleansers and moisturizers. There are really nice, affordable products that don’t cost a fortune,” she said.

She would prefer if people spent their money on “corrective products” or “treatment products” that target skin problems like acne, redness and dryness.

“If you use products that specifically target these issues, you can combine them with the cheaper options,” she explained.

Every two weeks she does a chemical peel with mandelic acid at home to improve the appearance of her skin.

Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from bitter almonds “accelerates cell turnover and acts as an effective exfoliator to remove dead skin cells,” according to Healthline.

Drew Barrymore reveals which skincare products she “has to take with her everywhere” – and her travel must-have costs just $4

About once or twice a week, Ross also uses an “underrated” tool.

“I love using Gua Sha – the power of it can’t be underestimated if your face is feeling a bit puffy,” she says.

This traditional Chinese medicine technique favored by Kendall Jenner involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to relieve high blood pressure and improve circulation.

GOLDEN RULES

Ross has a set of “golden rules” that anyone who wants to improve and protect their skin should follow.

“Cleanse your skin twice, apply sunscreen, store eye care in the fridge and apply the remaining products to the back of your hand,” she said.

Ross also emphasized the importance of having a consistent morning and evening routine.

She explained that she starts every morning by washing her face with an exfoliating cleanser.

Anti-aging tips

  • Hydrate your skin from the inside by drinking water and from the outside with moisturizer.
  • Always use sunscreen, even when you are not in direct sun.
  • Use vitamin C to lighten the skin and don’t forget to apply it on your neck.
  • Argireline Solution 10%, $9.70, The Ordinary
  • Inkey List Hydrating Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid, $10, Sephora
  • The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream for Puffiness and Dark Circles, $11, Sephora
  • CeraVe Anti-Aging Retinol Serum, $12, Walmart
  • CeraVe Vitamin C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid, $14.58, Amazon
  • Boost Lab Neck Firming Serum, $29.99, Amazon
  • sea cucumber collagen anti-aging cream, $88 70 $, Bescher

“I would always recommend double cleansing in the evening, as some makeup and sunscreen are very stubborn to remove,” she added.

“Cleansing is very important because it gives you a day off. It reduces congestion, blackheads and breakouts.”

When it comes to anti-aging, she advises avoiding sun, smoking, sugar and stress as much as possible.

“Sun and smoking are the two main factors, but sugar and stress can also cause many skin problems,” she said.

“For younger, oily skin, however, I would completely eliminate oil from the skin care routine.”

She suggested using oil-free products and opting for cleansers that counteract oil production.

In particular, look for products with BHAs and AHAs because “that will help,” advises Ross.

“When a person’s skin cannot produce water, it produces more oil, so sometimes proper hydration is all the person needs,” she explained.

MORE EXPENSIVE PLAN

If you’re willing to spend money, Ross recommends more expensive treatments like a Lyma laser, a six-step Oxylight facial and Ameela, a salmon sperm facial.

The Aesthetics Club is one of the few companies in Scotland to offer Ameela, an injectable gel made from polynucleotides extracted from salmon DNA.

Both Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian were thrilled with the results.

The anti-aging method hydrates, tightens and contours while reducing the damage caused by free radicals under the skin.
