Chase away the weekend blues and visit SUE – the Field is free for Illinois residents on Wednesdays!
Pre-registered field trips to Illinois are FREE every day of the week!
Free Wednesdays are the perfect opportunity for you to explore our basic admission exhibits with your family or a group of science-loving friends. Experience wilderness adventures on a desert safari, explore ancient civilizations, and come face-to-face with prehistoric creatures—all in one place. The Field Museum has so much to explore, you’ll need more than just one day to see it all. But don’t worry—for Illinois residents, every Wednesday in 2024 is free.
For your convenience during the busy summer season, free day passes for the months of July and August are available for purchase online in advance. Please present your proof of Illinois residency along with your mobile tickets for expedited admission to the museum. Tickets are also available on-site, subject to availability. Reservations are strongly recommended.
Museums for everyone
Can’t come on a day off? We offer museums for all and other discounts all year round.
Families eligible for federal food assistance can receive a base admission rate of $3 per person for up to six people. Simply present an EBT (link) or WIC card when purchasing tickets at the museum. You cannot take advantage of this special offer if you purchase tickets online.
