IMAG History & Science Center hosts annual Community Day on August 17 | News, Sports, Jobs

The IMAG History & Science Center will host its annual Community Day on Saturday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with 50% off admission, activities, shows and discounted memberships. For Community Day, IMAG plans to have a variety of activities and crafts for children and families, as well as animal shows, science shows and other presentations, while NBC 2 meteorologists will offer educational seminars on hurricane preparedness.

Additionally, community organizations join in the fun, including the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Myers Fire Department, Lee County Natural Resources and Solid Waste, and the Lee County Mosquito Control District.

It just wouldn’t be Community Day without our Fight the Bite friends.

The Edison and Ford Winter Estates, Alliance for the Arts, Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum and Aquarium and Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation will also be there to share information about activities and camps for children, families and adults on Sanibel and Captiva islands. And if you love animals, Community Day is a must-attend event because CROW (Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife), a teaching hospital and education center dedicated to rescuing wildlife, will be on site, as will Dogs Inc, known for their great work training guide dogs and providing service and assistance dogs.

There will be plenty of fun, food and treats throughout the day.

The IMAG History & Science Center is located at 2000 Cranford Ave., Fort Myers. For more information, call 239-243-0043 or visit theIMAG.org.
