Lightweights and light heavyweights will compete to try and secure a spot in the 2024 PFL Championships when this year’s 8th PFL card takes place on Friday (August 16) in Hollywood, Florida.

PFL announces debuts of former UFC champions Francis Ngannou and Cris Cyborg

In the main event, 2023 PFL Light Heavyweight Champion Impa Kasanganay will face Josh Silveira in a rematch of last year’s tournament final.

Kasanganay lost to Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen by a razor-thin split decision at PFL vs. Bellator before scoring two stoppage wins to return to the PFL playoffs, while Silveira fell in his second regular season fight in June but made it to the postseason thanks to a first-round win over Sadibou Sy that came on the back of a thumb injury.

The evening’s co-main event will see 2022 PFL Light Heavyweight Champion Rob Wilkinson take on Dovlet Yagshimuradov, who impressively made it to the 2024 playoffs in his first season with the PFL.

Wilkinson is eager to return to the PFL Championships after sitting out last season due to a failed drug test, but “Razor” faces a tough challenge in Florida as he attempts to end Yagshimuradov’s current five-fight winning streak.

Gadzhi Rabadanov vs. Michael Dufort

Rabadanov will look to continue his eight-fight winning streak and earn a spot in the lightweight final when he faces Dufort. Both men are competing in their first PFL season and Rabadanov picked up two points wins in his two regular season fights, while Dufort defeated Mads Burnell with a second-round submission win in April before losing narrowly on points to Adam Piccolotti in June.

Brent Primus vs Clay Collard

Former Bellator lightweight champion Primus looks to earn a shot at another belt when he faces long-time PFL veteran Collard. The matchup looks to be a pretty clear clash of styles, as Primus will likely look to take Collard to the mat while “Cassius” looks to hold things up to score his second knockout win of this year’s PFL season.

Biaggio Ali Walsh

Ali Walsh was a star from the moment he first stepped into the PFL SmartCage as an amateur fighter. Now he’s set to make his second professional fight against debutant Brian Stapleton after Korey Taylor pulled out. As the grandson of the great Muhammad Ali, the 25-year-old is closely watched every time he fights and will be looking to put on another impressive performance when he returns to Florida.

Danny Sabatello

Sabatello is currently coming off the first two consecutive fights of his career and will look to get back on track when he faces undefeated Lazaro Dayron. “The Italian Gangster” has only lost to top bantamweight competitors during his time in Bellator and although the PFL does not currently host a bantamweight tournament, Sabatello will look to score a big win in his promotional debut.

Jean-Thérèse

A win at the PFL Challenger Series last year saw Jean score back-to-back first-round knockouts in his first two PFL fights. The undefeated welterweight faces a big challenge: former LFA champion Chris Brown, but another win could earn Jean a chance to compete in next year’s PFL welterweight tournament.
