Indie App Spotlight: SubManager helps you keep track of your subscriptions

Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we highlight the latest apps from the world of indie apps. If you’re a developer and want your app featured, get in touch..

SubManager is a simple app that makes it easy to keep track of all your subscriptions across the internet. In a world where it seems like every app wants to charge you monthly for somethingthis management tool is actually quite helpful!

Unlike other apps that help you with subscriptions, like Rocket Money, SubManager doesn’t require you to link your bank accounts. This is good for user privacy, as you’re not sharing a ton of data from all your different bank accounts and credit cards. However, it also means you have to manually add each of your subscriptions. Apps like Rocket Money aren’t very accurate at recognizing subscriptions anyway, so I don’t mind having to add things manually.

Once you have added all your subscriptions, SubManager has a neat interface that allows you to see all the subscriptions in one list. There is also an information tab that shows you how much you will spend in total that month. SubManager also allows you to be notified before your subscriptions renew, even in the free version, thus avoiding accidental subscription renewals. By default, this reminder is one day in advance, but you can configure it as much as you want, up to 30 days in advance.

Additionally, the app supports iCloud Sync, so you can easily keep track of your subscriptions across all your Apple devices without having to deal with logins. The app fully supports iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

You can track an unlimited number of subscriptions for free. The paid version allows you to categorize subscriptions, add additional details like your payment method, and import/export JSON and CSV files.

The developer also adds that they plan to release an update in the future with additional features, such as the ability to track free trials and support for additional Siri features and Apple Intelligence.

Personally, I really like the app. It allows me to manage all my subscriptions in one place, similar to App Store subscriptions, except I can also log all my subscriptions from the web, of which I have quite a few now. It’s a worthwhile tool if you want to better manage your spending.

SubManager is available on the App Store for iOS 16.4 and above, completely free and ad-free. There is a one-time purchase of $4.99 for SubManager+ that unlocks additional features. There is also a SubManager+ option that supports Family Sharing for $8.99. More information can be found here on the website.
