(Insights) Memory Spot Price Update: NAND prices for package dies and wafers slightly lower due to slow transactions

According to TrendForce’s latest Memory Spot Price Trend Report, DRAM spot price demand has not yet improved, resulting in increased inventory pressure among suppliers, indicating the potential for larger price cuts in the future. As for NAND flash, the overall price trend is still heading toward a reduction, resulting in a slight price decline for packaged chips and wafers in the spot market. Details are as follows:

DRAM spot price:

As was the case last week, demand has not yet improved, resulting in increased inventory pressure on suppliers. As a result, suppliers are more willing to offer discounts on the spot market. Overall, spot transactions continue to show low volumes. In addition, the prices buyers are willing to accept are significantly lower than the official prices of sellers, resulting in a stalemate. Therefore, there is the potential for larger price declines in the future. The average spot price of mainstream chips (ie 1Gx8 2666MT/s) fell 0.20% from $1.989 last week to $1.985 this week.

NAND Flash Spot Price:

After the August open, the inertia in spot market transactions is persistent, with buyers maintaining strong indecision. Despite the emerging demand for partial inventory orders, the overall price trend is still heading towards decline due to a lack of continuity, which led to a small price decline for packaged chips and wafers in the spot market this week, where the spot price of 512Gb TLC wafers has fallen by 0.58% and is now at $3,272.
