According to media reports, Intel has introduced a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) or graphics card specifically for cars. The GPU, called “Arc A760A”, allows users to transfer their gaming experience from home to their car.
Intel has not yet named any automotive partners, although the company has said the chips will launch in 2025. Intel says the chips are designed to “usher in a new era of AI-powered cockpit experiences.”
The Arc A760A will feature voice, camera and gesture recognition and will be able to control up to “seven high-resolution screens with 3D graphics, as well as six in-vehicle cameras and interactive features,” while also being able to run demanding triple-A games, in-vehicle entertainment and AI-powered productivity apps.
The press release states that the chip will be able to “execute complex vehicle control commands through natural language processing, accurately answer vehicle-related questions, and even chat with users in a relaxed manner, making for a more interactive and enjoyable ride.”
The company is also said to have developed more than 500 functions and apps for cars. The new chip will be compatible with entry-level, mid-range and luxury cars and will be scalable.
