Inter Milan are considering signing Lille striker Jonathan David on a free transfer

Inter Milan are considering signing free agent striker Jonathan David from Lille and Canada next summer.

This is stated in today’s print edition of the Milan newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, FCInterNewsThey report that the Canadian could be part of Inter’s long-term attacking strategy.

Inter still have a few things to sort out in attack this summer.

What is clear is that Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Mehdi Taremi will form the basis of Inter’s attack next season.

Meanwhile, Marko Arnautovic has announced his desire to stay. However, Inter could still listen to offers for the Austrian.

And in the case of Joaquin Correa, the FCIN reports that a surprise stay cannot be completely ruled out.

If there are no suitable offers for the Argentine, Inter could keep him for the final season of his contract. As a fifth striker, he would add more depth to the squad.

However, if Arnautovic and Correa leave, Inter could acquire a new signing in attack.

In this respect, Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson remains the main goal.

Inter considers free transfer of Lille striker Jonathan David

However, Inter will almost certainly sign an attacking player next summer anyway.

Both Arnautovic and Correa’s contracts expire at the end of June next year.

Inter is therefore already starting to think about what options might be available in attack.

And one big name that the Nerazzurri have had their eye on for a long time is the 24-year-old Canadian international David.

The former Gent striker is still at Lille. He has not left the Ligue 1 club despite numerous transfer rumors in recent transfer windows.

And David’s contract with Lille expires at the end of June next year.

Therefore, it increasingly looks like David will stay at Lille and leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

Inter are certainly no strangers to taking advantage of free transfer opportunities and David would be one of the big players next summer if he is actually available.

Therefore, according to a report by FCIN, the Nerazzurri are already thinking about setting the course for signing David.
