Is Kendrick Lamar Releasing New Music? Here’s Everything You Need to Know About It

It’s safe to say that Kendrick Lamar is the man of the hour in the hip-hop world. While the rapper has long been hailed as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, his feud with Drake in 2024 and victory over the mogul took his hype to a whole new level. Tracks like “Like That” and “Not Like Us” topped the charts for weeks this year, earning either positive or praised critical acclaim.

And now, riding the wave of hype surrounding the year 2024, Kendrick Lamar is reportedly preparing more musical highlights.

This year, Kendrick Lamar outshone seven other rappers to win the title of Best Male Hip Hop Artist at the 2024 BET Awards. This came as no surprise, as the Pulitzer Prize winner has achieved major career milestones over the past year. And now, following his diss-filled “Not Like Us” music video, Lamar is reportedly set to release new music soon. DJ Akademiks, the internet personality who also challenged Lamar last monthrecently shared during his podcast and said: “Kendrick charges“. The hip-hop enthusiast added: “I was told Kendrick is coming“.

In addition to being nominated in other BET Award categories, including Best Collaboration for “America We Have a Problem (Remix)” with Beyoncé, Lamar has also produced two No. 1 singles in 2024. These include his two top singles from his diss war with Drake, “Like That” featuring Future and Kendrick Lamar, and “Not Like Us,” which topped the charts and was a strong contender for Song of the Summer, but still went to the current pop sensation, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”

“Not Like Us” also broke one of Drake’s biggest streaming records, dealing another blow to the already defeated.

The only bright spot from the explosive war between Kendrick Lamar and Drake was a few chart-topping hits. The crown jewel of the battle, however, was “Not Like Us,” which ultimately prompted Drake to retire with his final track. Although the song contained some harsh lines, the Mustard-produced beat became the fastest rap song ever to reach 500 million streams on Spotify, breaking Drake’s “God’s Plan” record.

Despite landing the decisive blow in the showdown, Lamar didn’t let up. He released a music video for the song that was full of Easter eggs and references to Drake’s accusations. While fans have no hope that Drake can make amends despite his obvious attempts, it’s still uncertain whether Lamar will throw more shade in his supposedly new music or if he’s put the feud behind him entirely.
