The Jaguars stepped up their efforts to surround quarterback Trevor Lawrence with top talent by signing Gabe Davis as a free agent and selecting Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Jacksonville stumbled down the stretch last season, falling from 8-3 to 9-8 and being eliminated from the AFC playoffs, while Lawrence stagnated after making great strides between his first and second seasons in the league.

The Falcons made a sharp turn in their future planning this offseason by upgrading the quarterback position twice. After struggling to a 7-10 record with Desmond Ridder taking most of the snaps at quarterback, Atlanta signed veteran Kirk Cousins to a big free agency deal and then selected Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Atlanta had previously invested in weapons Kyle Pitts, Drake London and Bijan Robinson with first-round picks in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
