Jake Gyllenhaal presents himself with a buzz cut in summer

Thanks to Jake Gyllenhaal, summer has become even hotter.

On 14 August Street House The 43-year-old star posted a sexy video and photo on Instagram of his “summer cut,” which the star shaved himself.

The actor’s carousel began with a black-and-white video of him transforming his hair into a buzz cut using an electric razor.

Gyllenhaal seems unfazed as hair falls onto his white tank top and into the sink.

The post ends with Gyllenhaal (whose hair has gone through many lengths and eras, from luscious curls to nearly bald), now in a T-shirt and Prada sunglasses and also wearing a big grin, showing off the results of his labor.

DIY haircuts are not uncommon among male celebrities. Patrick Dempsey and George Clooney are some of the big names known for avoiding the barbershop and instead grabbing the razor blades themselves.

Dempsey made a splash online in 2022 when he traded in his signature style for a buzz cut — a “spontaneous” decision, as his wife Jillian Dempsey put it, who told PEOPLE the backstory of this major transformation.

Clooney revealed that he has been his own hairdresser for years when he said CBS Sunday Morning in 2020 that he prefers to style his hair with a Flowbee, a hair clipper from the 80s.

“I’ve been cutting my own hair for 25 years,” he said. “My hair is actually straw-like, so it’s easy to cut. You can’t really make many mistakes. So years ago I bought a Flowbee that came out when I was a kid.”
