The new single and video are now available
Jessie Reyez releases her second single of 2024, the already iconic “Ridin” featuring rapper Lil Wayne, out now via FMLY/Island Records. Following the lighthearted and playful release of “Shut Up” featuring Big Sean earlier this year, Reyez continues to make music with “Ridin,” taking listeners on a moment of lustful intimacy.
Gliding over a melodic blend of guitar strings and drums, produced by Monsters and Strangerz (Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5) and Jeff Gitty, Reyez shares how past intimate relationships proved unsuccessful and that she now just wants to be physically pampered by her partner. Her classic songwriting skills come through in her various puns on the word “ridin,” as well as numerous double entendres that promote a heightened level of sexual healing. Lil Wayne’s iconic flow supports the track with his raw and witty lyricism, amplifying the tone of Jessie’s intense passion that she craves. Her innocence mixed with the song’s X-rated desires creates a beautiful and poetic balance of feminist sexual confidence that all women can relate to.
Known for her fearless lyricism and emotional performances, Reyez continues to captivate listeners with her unique blend of R&B, soul and contemporary pop. Most recently, she released the singles “Shut Up” featuring Big Sean and “Jeans” featuring Miguel – as well as the release of her poetry book “Words of a Goat Princess” and an appearance on the Netflix series “The 4000.” Rebel Moon Soundtrack with the single “Child of Fire”.
Reyez continues to enjoy success with “Imported” featuring Grammy-nominated artist 6lack, which recently went double platinum, as she continues to build a huge and loyal fanbase that now totals over three billion streams worldwide across all streaming platforms. Her debut album Before love came to kill us recently received RIAA Gold certification, marking her as a major pillar of the music landscape as she prepares to release new music, likely later this year or early next year.
