John Wayne Gacy expands cast of miniseries “Devil in Disguise” with five more actors

The upcoming Peacock miniseries “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy” has added five new series regulars.

Gabriel Luna (“The Last of Us,” “Terminator: Dark Fate”), James Badge Dale (“Savant,” “1923”), Michael Angarano (“Oppenheimer,” “This Is Us”), Chris Sullivan (“This Is Us,” “Mercy”) and Marin Ireland will all star in the series. They will appear alongside Michael Chernus, who is set to play Gacy.

The show is inspired by the 2021 Peacock docuseries “John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise,” produced by NBC News Studios. Gacy murdered 33 young men between 1972 and 1978 before he was caught.

According to the show’s official logline, it “uncovers the tangled layers of Gacy’s life while weaving in the heartbreaking stories of his mostly gay victims, exploring the grief, guilt and trauma of their families and friends and exposing the systemic failures, missed opportunities and societal prejudices that fueled his reign of terror.”

Luna plays Detective Rafael Tovar, while Dale plays Chief of Detectives Joe Kozenczak. Angarano plays Sam Amirante and Sullivan plays lead prosecutor Bill Kunkle. Ireland plays Elizabeth Piest.

Luna is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, Ziffren Brittenham LLP and Shelter PR. Dale is repped by CAA, MJ Management and Jackoway Austen Tyerman et al. Angarano is repped by Anonymous Content, UTA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Sullivan is repped by Gersh, Suskin/Karshan and Hansen Jacobsen. Ireland is repped by Untitled and CAA.

Patrick Macmanus is the writer and showrunner of “Devil in Disguise” under his banner Littleton Road Productions, with Littleton Road’s Kelly Funke also serving as executive producer. Noah Oppenheim and Liz Cole of NBC News Studios also serve as executive producers, along with Ashley Michel Hoban and Ahmadu Garba. UCP will produce.
