From our interview with the former Cosmo Germany Cover star, we think we’ve gained some insight into the mind of the model, actor, and author. And based on her latest outfit, we’re pretty sure Julia not only has a favorite trend right now, but we’ve figured out exactly what it is. Here comes the trend: underwear as outerwear.
Last night (20 August) I walked the red carpet in New York for the world premiere of The CrowJulia’s outfit seemed to confirm our theory.
At first glance, her outfit appeared subtly chic, consisting of an oversized black blazer, a faded grey T-shirt and a black satin midi skirt. But upon closer inspection, she had actually dressed the other way round, wearing a black satin lace-trimmed undershirt with garters over her T-shirt. And even more obviously, as that was the front of her skirt, which featured a pair of pink frilly underwear, complete with a pretty lace pattern and a satin bow.
A handbag, also embellished with pink satin bows, matched her underwear perfectly, and black baggy boots completed the look perfectly. And as for her beauty look, thick black eye makeup added extra drama.
Her fans were thrilled with this latest outfit and wrote on Instagram things like:
“Julia really said: YOU DON’T HAVE TO GUESS THE COLOR OF MY UNDERWEAR 😭”
“This is how underwear works as outerwear 💅”

The outing follows Julia’s appearance last week in a plunging maxi skirt made entirely from men’s boxer shorts, further proving her current love for the trend. If this is the theme, we can’t wait to see what she wears next.
