The actor shared a video on Instagram on Saturday showing the process of cutting his hair
Justin Baldoni lets go of his long locks for a good cause.
Saturday on Instagram, the Jane, the Virgin The 39-year-old alumnus shared a video of himself cutting his hair to donate it to the charity Locks of Love, which specializes in making custom wigs for children who have lost their hair for medical reasons.
“And it’s done,” Baldoni captioned the post, adding the hashtags #fouryearsinthemaking and #younoticethatyou’renervousfromchewinggum.
Sitting in an armchair with his hair in several ponytails, Baldoni explains to his five-year-old son, Maxwell Roland-Samuel, “You cut it like this, baby, because Daddy is going to donate his hair to someone whose hair can’t grow because maybe they have cancer like Uncle Zach or have lost their hair.”

“He’s going to give all that hair to someone. That’s why you have to cut it right there,” he continued, showing his child exactly where to cut his hair. “Are you ready? Okay, let’s go.”
Maxwell cuts the first strand of his dad’s hair while his sister Maiya Grace, 7, closes her eyes. “Let me know when it’s done,” she says sweetly.

With tears in his eyes, Baldoni clarifies: “I’m not crying because I’m cutting my hair. I’m crying because this is going to someone.”
The clip then shows Baldoni’s children cutting the rest of his hair and posing with the ponytails next to their father. A professional stylist then arranges the actor’s hair.

The father of two then asks his children if they are ready, after which they count to three in an adorable transition sequence and then take their hands off the camera to reveal his shorter hairstyle.
“I love it,” Emily says of her husband’s new hairstyle, kissing him on the forehead. The video playfully ends with the words “He’s super hot,” as Baldoni sits in the barber’s chair.
Several people commented on Baldoni’s video, including his former Jane, the Virgin Co-star Yael Grobglas joked, “Oh thank god.” Amanda Kloots wrote, “Oh it looks AMAZING!!!! Cutest family video ever! Baldoni wins!”
