DJ Mustard had some nice words to say about Drake in his last interview. Producer behind Kendrick Lamar’s hit (and Drake diss album) “Not Like Us” met with The Los Angeles Timestalks about his career and of course about his current summer song with Lamar.

Unless you live in complete seclusion, “Not Like Us” is everywhere. Lamar’s hit single came after a string of songs in his back-and-forth with Drake earlier this year, but it’s by far his most successful. The penultimate punch in the rap battle, the song debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and dominated radio and streaming charts all summer long.

When asked if he would ever produce a song for Drake, Mustard simply replied in the interview with the Times: “I don’t think I want to do a song with the guy.” He added: “He’s a weird guy.”

When it comes to working with Lamar, however, Mustard calls him “a genius.” He explains, “He does the unthinkable every time. And on a human level – as a normal person – I like his style.” He went on to talk about how even after all this success, Lamar didn’t brag about his victories on social media like many of his peers and contemporaries did.

“His whole mystique gives me the same vibe as Prince,” he continued. “Even now (after the success of ‘Not Like Us’) the guy hasn’t posted anything. I told him, ‘I don’t know how you do this shit. I’d be like, ‘Yeah, I’m No. 1!'”

Naturally, the subject of the Grammys came up and whether the producer had thought about the biggest night and music in advance (and whether their hit album could take home some major awards). He said: “Man … aAnd I think about what happens if we win. It’s a big night. A big win for the Coast.”
