Kim and Khloe Kardashian have accused each other of “mom-shaming” when they appeared in the latest season of The Kardashians.
The episode, which was released on Hulu and Disney Plus on Thursday (June 27), sparked heated debate as viewers were divided over the altercation.
Kim has four children with musician and fashion designer Kanye West, now known as Ye, and Khloe has two children with Canadian basketball player and notorious womanizer Tristan Thompson.
The 43-year-old business tycoon confronted her sister Khloe about a comment she made about her daughter Chi’s hair.
“I have a bone to pick with you because of the way you do certain things,” she said as she began to vent her displeasure.
“You called me the other day and asked if you could do Chi’s hair. I don’t know if condescending is the right word, but you are very embarrassing.”
She further explained that Khloe had been dropping her nieces and nephews off at school when she complained that Kim’s daughter Chicago had “so much product in her.”
“I was having a really rough week, so I said to my mom, ‘Can you please watch my two little ones? I’ll send them over and can you get them ready for school?'” Kim recalled in her confession.
“Chicago put this hair gel in her hair on the way out the door and I thought, honestly, who cares? My mom can put her hair in a ponytail, put it in a… who cares!
“So Khloé calls me on FaceTime and is like, ‘I have to go over to mom’s and help her get your kids ready and do Chicago’s hair! The hair gel!'”
Khloe explained that she didn’t want to offend or embarrass Kim, but she was aware that she could be very picky about her children’s hairstyles and wanted to play it safe.
“I just said, ‘Do you mind if I do Chicago’s hair?’ Because you’re very particular,” she defended herself.
But Kim was not to be consoled and continued: “I know her hair looked like crap. Thanks for reminding me that I didn’t have time to style and wash her damn hair one night before bed.”
Khloe seemed confused by the outburst, accusing her sister of trying to “project what you’re going through onto me and take it out on me,” adding, “I could handle it, but not forever.”
She said, “It sounds like you were dealing with your own crap. Then you decided to take advantage of that and build up all this animosity toward me, even though that’s your damn problem.”
But Kim had more to say when she accused Khloe of having a “stick up her ass” and compared her life to that of Brendan Fraser in The whaleand criticized her for not getting out of the house more often and told her to “sort out her life.”
“Maybe if you lived your life a little bit you wouldn’t get so worked up about hair gel. It’s just crazy. Having to deal with people other than your kids and your family all day,” she said.
“This is mom-shaming!” Khloé replied in her confessional. “What the hell are you doing to me? This is just mom-shaming in reverse.”
“You’re ripping me off for being a helicopter mom or whatever you want to call me, and you’re saying I’m ripping you off for not being a stricter mom or whatever you’re saying at this point – that you don’t brush Chi’s hair. When you’re obviously brushing Chicago’s hair! There’s just a hell of a lot of gel.”
