Kim Kardashian is ready for fall – at least when it comes to hair colors.

The 43-year-old reality star and entrepreneur has traded in her signature dark locks for a rich red hue that’s guaranteed to evoke seasonal vibes. In a video shared to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, August 28, Kardashian showed off her new color, the long, sleek hairstyle slicked back behind her shoulders.

The look is presumably a wig, as the next image shows the star back in her usual brunette hue. Kardashian also tagged her skincare line SKKN, suggesting the transformation was for a brand shoot. Although the dramatic style was short-lived, it’s enough to inspire the next wave of the red hair trend.

Last summer, the striking color was a favorite among celebrities, thanks in part to the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey. Stars like Chrissy Teigen, Emily Ratajkowski and Megan Fox have adopted the copper color, proving that there are endless ways to interpret the trend.

It seems that the trend is still alive in 2024 and is sure to get stronger as fall approaches. In May, Kim’s sister Khloé Kardashian swapped her usual blonde for a strawberry red shade.

“Strawberry shortcake vibes 🍓🍓,” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram carousel. “Thank you my sweet @traceycunningham1 for gifting me the prettiest strawberry blush 🍓 @priscillavalles glam: @ash_kholm @hairinel.”

On July 4, Sophia Bush debuted a new shade of copper, a surprising change from her usual dark brown style.

“We have decided to set the RED this year in ‘red, white and blue’ ♥️,” said the OneTreeHill the actress wrote under a joint Instagram post with hairdresser Nikki Lee and make-up artist Afton Williams.
