Liverpool have “the best chance of signing Mamardashvili cheaply”

Liverpool are seriously interested in signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia CF and have already submitted an offer.

According to the current version of the Levante EMV (News image provided below), Los Che are looking to make a big sale in the summer transfer window to improve their balance sheet.

News – Deal completed – Liverpool close to signing £52m star

In such a scenario, Mamardashvili could be the one to leave the La Mestalla team before the transfer deadline this month.

The Spanish news source mentioned that Liverpool have “the best chances” of signing Mamardashvili cheaply.

Valencia estimates the Georgian goalkeeper’s value at around £38.6 million (€45 million) and even Newcastle United is interested in him.

Levante EMV claim that Liverpool are well aware of the La Liga team’s economic problems and know that they can push for a “reduction” in the price.

So far, two offers have been made and both have been rejected by the Spaniards. Liverpool’s idea is to sign Mamardashvili and loan him to a Premier League club where he can gain experience until Alisson’s departure.

Although Valencia have not received any offers that come anywhere close to the 23-year-old’s value, the option of him being sold for a fee well below his market value is “becoming increasingly compelling”.

Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and was named Best Goalkeeper in 2019 after winning the Champions League with Liverpool and the Copa America with Brazil.

The 31-year-old Samba star has been one of the most consistent performers at Anfield and has at least a few more years at the top left in him, so Slot will have to hold on to him.

Nevertheless, Liverpool will need to sign a long-term replacement sooner or later. Do you think the Reds should poach Mamardashvili?
