LL Cool J says Kendrick Lamar’s altercation with Drake was “the funniest shit in the world”

LL Cool J praised Kendrick Lamar for his tactics against Drake in their ongoing feud. In an interview with Ray Daniels Mediahe called Lamar’s cover of “Not Like Us” the “funniest shit in the world.”

“This shit is crazy,” he noted. “This has nothing to do with nothing but it’s the funniest shit in the world. It’s crazy. You gotta respect that kind of mindset.” When DJ Akademiks shared the version on Instagram, fans had a mixed reaction. “Making false claims about a man’s name is not funny, it’s cheesy. Kbot is a cold hater,” one user wrote. Another added, “All fun and games until someone does it to you.”

LL Cool J also spoke about how rap controversy has evolved over the years. “This generation thinks more layered,” he argued. “The thinking is more layered. The thinking used to be like that — it used to be, ‘Okay, you make the song.’ That was it. Then it transitioned to ‘You make the song and you make the video.’ Now it transitions to ‘You make the song, you make the video, you have a brand, you make a book, you have the movie, you have the music. You monetize it. You have a platform.’ The layering of the thought process is completely different.” From there, he explained that established artists can learn a lesson from the youth.
