Lori Harvey’s new blonde hair has the trendiest butterscotch tone

You can always count on Lori Harvey to break convention and do her own thing. When extra-long extensions came back into style, she set a whole new trend when she cut her hair into a short, voluminous bob. When everyone else was going for garish manicures, she went the sophisticated route with rich, understated luxe classics. And now, with fall upon us, she’s doing it her way again. Conventional wisdom says that colder months call for cooler, darker hair dyes and highlights—but that doesn’t have to be the case. Harvey’s butterscotch blonde hair color just made its big Instagram debut, and her five million fans are flooding her comments section with enthusiastic praise. The young star has changed up her length and style many times over the years, but a major color change is by far her biggest transformation yet.

Harvey seemed to subtly announce the blonde transformation while on vacation, sharing a photo from the beach where you can see a hint of warm, light hair peeking out from under her white Louis Vuitton-print scarf. Then, just days before September, she posted the real thing: a full carousel of high-res photos showing off every shade, highlight and dimension of her new look.

The color itself is gold, a perfect choice to enhance Harvey’s own warm undertones and brown eyes. The base is a rich butterscotch caramel, with lighter, brighter highlights woven all the way down to the bottom for a natural, three-dimensional effect. Combined with her just-back-from-vacation glow, the overall effect is nothing short of luminous.

If you’re looking to go blonde for fall—or are already blonde and simply want a shade change for the new season—butterscotch is the way to go. It’s one of the most in-demand hair colors for fall 2024 and is considered a truly universal look that looks incredible on every single skin tone. “Butterscotch blonde is ideal for brunettes looking for a warm blonde, or icy blondes looking to warm up their color to match the fall palette,” celebrity colorist and hairstylist Reece Walker told TZR in early August.

Since this major is co-signed by a celebrity, the trend is expected to reach epic proportions.
